From Gravitational Waves to GPS
Do you have engaging activities to help students learn about wave particle duality, particle physics, gravitational waves, and GPS? Some estimate that over a third of our economy is based on quantum physics concepts, but our schools are not preparing our students for these jobs. We are here to help both you and your students!
This summer, we are offering 2 opportunities to attend a week-long workshop on Quantum/Modern Physics topics designed for teachers or TYC faculty. You can use the novelty and interest about black holes or general relativity to help students with more common physics topics such as centripetal motion and conservation of energy/momentum. Workshop leaders have been trained by the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics and the resources have been vetted internationally.
The workshop is unique in that we offer a way for teachers to perform a “test run” with teaching this new material. On Thursday, students from the local areas are invited to come in and learn about Quantum Physics. Teachers will be able to co-teach the activities they have been doing during the week of PD to an actual student group so they can see how it might apply in their own classrooms and give them a chance to work through any kinks in their own understanding.
This unique workshop is only $350 and includes some equipment to take back to your classroom. Join us if you would like to increase your own understanding of modern physics, learn how to teach quantum, or just want to see how students respond to these concepts. The workshops are provided by certified CPE providers.
Dates are TBD, but if you want to be the first on the list, send us your email and we will notify you when the dates are set.
