Central Pennsylvania Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers in Cooperation with PTRA Presents
Out of Your World Physics
The search for life outside of our Solar System and the world of Quantum Mechanics are topics that capture immense student interest and can be used to teach the physics already in our curricula. This workshop will be in two parts with both using fundamental principles of light. In the first part, we will introduce activities for teaching how scientists use light to detect exoplanets.
In the second part, we will examine how quantum mechanics can be used to change the way we compute and communicate using light polarization as a basis. While these quantum activities will be complementary to the previous offerings, attendance and knowledge of quantum mechanics is NOT needed.
Join us again at PSU-Altoona on Saturday for the AAPT Central PA Section Spring Conference
